A Welcome
Hello and welcome to the website of Mr. Jackson Freeman. If you are here, than it is highly likely that you have a child attending one of my courses. I understand it takes a certain kind of faith to trust an educator with a part of the overall academic development of your student, and the information on this page will hopefully acquaint you a bit more with my pedagogical beliefs and practices, some information about my qualifications, and contact information should you ever need to message me.
History and Qualifications
My name is Jackson Kenneth Freeman and I was born and raised in Northville, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. It was early in my youth when I started to develop a deep-rooted love for English, whether it was literature or figuring out how to best compose a persuasive argument. That passion lasted with me all through my public school experience, after which I began attending Western Michigan University in the Fall of 2012 to study to become both a Spanish and an English secondary educator. I felt such a strong passion for language and the education thereof over my years as a WMU Bronco that I stuck with that professional path. So many years later, I have earned my certification to teach those subjects in the state of Michigan, and I could not be more excited to be an educator at your student's school.
Personal Teaching Philosophy
I believe that language is mankind's most powerful tool. It has the power to dismantle evil regimes with a sentence, and build up a life from the ground up with a single word. It is because of this that becoming an effective communicator in our modern day and age is so important for the intellectual maturity and social development of students from their youth to their adulthood.
I believe that if the pedagogues of the world, in collaboration with the parents of the students they teach, can develop and improve teaching practices to communicate the importance of being an effective communicator and get students excited and interested in becoming critical thinkers and positive contributors to an intelligent and happy society. That is why I teach. I believe that the students of today will be the movers and shakers of tomorrow, the lights of positive change, the preservers of our legacy as the human race.
But they cannot get there without being persuasive arguers and creative expressionists. Knowing how and when to use certain kinds of commas never hurt, either. And so I teach, to act as a resource to realize the future generation's potential. The message I write here may seem grandiose, but the bare bones truth is quite simple: I want to help your student grow.
